room in illegal brothel

A 45-year-old Thai woman rented rooms for illegal prostitutes

A 45-year-old woman from Thailand has admitted to renting rooms for illegal Thai prostitutes in Germany. Her case was heard at the Schwerin Regional Court, where the woman said she rented rooms for prostitution in several places in northern Germany.

She usually charged 500 euros per week for each room. The rooms were located in Winsen an der Luhe, Marne, Hamburg, and Schwerin.

She was also involved in smuggling, with prosecutors accusing her in 34 cases. The woman took a portion of the prostitutes’ earnings in exchange for covering the initial costs of smuggling. The 45-year-old woman denied the smuggling charges.

The Thai woman’s defense lawyer made a deal between the court and his client. In exchange for her admitting guilt, she was promised a prison sentence of no more than four years and one month.

The trial will continue at the end of October, and the verdict is expected in the last days of the month.

She knew that the prostitutes worked illegally in Germany

The Thai woman ran her rental business for almost four years, between March 2020 and January 2024. Almost all of her tenants were women; however, a few men also offered sexual services in these rooms.

The middle-aged woman knew that these sex workers were operating without any registration or legal papers, therefore they could be considered illegal prostitutes.

The Thai woman did not deny this before the court.

As it turned out, her contribution was even greater, as she not only rented the rooms but acted as a manager. She placed ads for her tenants, set the prices of the offered sexual services, and arranged the appointments between the prostitutes and clients.

From time to time, the prostitutes also changed their location, following the Thai woman’s instructions and moving to a new building or city when ordered.
