A 49-year-old man from Neunkirchen, Lower Austria, was robbed of more than €10,000 in cash and unauthorized withdrawals. A 22-year-old Romanian woman and her 47-year-old Austrian accomplice are suspected of committing the crime.
The victim arranged a meeting online with a prostitute to visit his home on Tuesday evening. Later a man also arrived, who was a friend of the prostitute, and they all drank alcohol together. According to the police, the two suspects put drug into the victim’s drink, causing him to lose consciousness.
They stoole money and a bank card
When the 49-year-old man passed out, the prostitute and her friend stole cash and the victim’s bank card. They then withdrew large amounts of money from his account, totaling over €10,000.
By Friday, police identified and arrested the suspects.
They were taken to Wiener Neustadt prison. Although they denied the charges, police found evidence and some of the stolen money in their apartment. The recovered items have been returned to the victim.
Illegal prostitutes often steal money or other valuables
It is worth booking a prostitute from legal and reputable escort agencies, where in most cases only high-class girls are working. Independent prostitutes can work in criminal gangs, and it happens quite often that the customer becomes the victim in the end. We have also covered many similar cases from the past:
A Hungarian sex worker targeted safes in Vienna brothels, stealing large amounts of money. She confessed to cracking three safes at different locations, stealing a total of €3,500. Her first robbery occurred in Schwechat in May 2019, followed by two more incidents in April and August at brothels in Vienna’s 15th district. She was arrested at Budapest Airport and extradited to Austria, where she faced trial in Kronenburg. While she admitted to some of the allegations, the true extent of her crimes remains unclear. Regular users of the Sex Vienna forum were warned about a Hungarian gang operating scams on the Booksusi website. These scammers typically demand upfront payment, then vanish without providing any service. Victims reported losing both their money and valuables. The gang frequently changes profiles and phone numbers on the site to evade detection. One of their ads, featuring a girl named “Sofie,” portrayed her as a naïve newcomer to Vienna. Though the ad was removed, customers are advised to exercise caution when using similar platforms and avoid any suspicious arrangements.
