Two people were arrested because of illegal prostitution

In late December 2024, police in Baden-Württemberg and Hesse searched three apartments and two businesses pretending to be massage parlors. These searches revealed illegal prostitution activities. The police carried out the operations in Karlsruhe, Mannheim, and Rüsselsheim. They collected a lot of evidence and arrested two people, according to a police report.

The investigation started in February and focused on three Chinese citizens. Two men, aged 38 and 46, and a 49-year-old woman were suspected of helping people without residence permits work as prostitutes in Germany. The suspects allegedly provided places to work, advertising, and appointment scheduling in return for money.

About 70 police officers were involved in the searches, during which they found €29,000 in cash. Two women, aged 49 and 55, were arrested. They appeared before a judge and are now in custody awaiting trial.

The police said they are still investigating and going through the evidence to learn more about the case.
